Argentine team started the World Cup 2010 with victory over Nigerian team. Diego Armando Maradona, head coach of Argentine team, commented on this match.

"I really hope that my team will make the most of the support from Argentina's fans, I hope they can make the most of that so they can excel and improve. My players will then have the flavor of winning".

He also said few words about Argentine best player Lionel Messi: "As long as he has fun close to the ball, then we will all be fine. If you take the ball away from him it would be like taking chocolate away from a kid. He produced magic on the field today".

Also, Maradona admitted that the inability to completely break down Nigerian resistence bit worried him and the team, making them nervous: "We missed many opportunities and we are not happy with this. We won all three points, but with so many missed opportunities the opponent still has a chance to score goal and get a draw", said Maradona.
