Moras out of Greece opener

Moras out of Greece openerGreece were dealt a blow ahead of their opening 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa match against Korea Republic as defender Vangelis Moras was ruled out.

Moras has failed to recover from a right ankle injury sustained in training and will now look to be fit for Greece's second Group B game, against Nigeria, in Bloemfontein on 17 June.

"I'm not ready," he said. "There's no need to take a risk. "It would be too big a risk to take in such a crucial match. I'll now try to get fit for the second game against Nigeria."

Greece play the Korean Republic in Port Elizabeth on Saturday and, after the Nigeria game, round off their Group B campaign against Argentina on 22 June in Polokwane.

South Africa kicked off a month long party on Thursday night with a spectacular concert at Orlando Stadium, featuring the likes of the Black Eyed Peas and Shakira, as well a host of local talent.

South African President Jacob Zuma and FIFA President Sepp Blatter also joined in on the party in Johannesburg's Soweto township, calling for unity for the duration of the World Cup.
